The pattern half of the headband seems to be a simple warp of hemp in tabby array, the cross lattices being wound in bright mercerized cotton at each line, the resulting pattern looking very like beadwork, the pattern being squared off, consisting of red chevrons with white crowns radiating from the centre yellow-gold butterfly.
