- A hand-forged piton pounded down and flattened at one end creating a tapered blade or knife, and at the raised end, a hole to fit a ring (missing) through. It was painted red at the raised end but has mostly flaked off. “10” is stamped on one side and “CASSIN” within a partial oval on the other.

The tapered blade is short and fine on the end; there is a hole on the wider, thicker end, for rings. Engraved with “LONGWARE” and also “G”. Only a remnant of what was most likely an “H”…
