- History / Biographical
- Elzear Duquette (1886 - 1977) was a Canadian known as the "King of the Walk". Duquette gained fame for his long-distance endurance walks across the world. Duquette was known to carry all of his belongings in a cart behind him which he also slept inside at night - he jokingly referred to this as his "coffin". Elzear married Marie Laura Duquette, and they had 8 children together.

- File consists of 2 portrait photographs in folders/portfolios, and 2 signed paper copies of posters. Content pertains to a graduate photograph [possibly Karin MacAulay?] from nursing school; two unidentified girls; and two signed copies of a poster promoting the book "The Last Trip of the King of the Walk" by J. Robert Gordon [one dated 1969]. Both copies are originals signed by Elzear Duquette and an unidentified relative with the same last name [first initials difficult to discern].

Content pertains to Eleanor Luxton, relatives and friends of the Luxton family. Includes individual and group photographs of numerous unidentified individuals on horseback and on foot, posing by family homes and ranches [likely in and around the Bow Valley]; and unidentified members of an Indigenous community [likely Stoney community members in Morley]. Scrapbook also contains various small clippings and symbols / pictures pertaining to academies, clubs and political groups based in Canada, England and the United States; invitations sent to Mr. and Mrs. McDougall to attend an Old Timers' Association event in 1908, and one in 1910 in Calgary ; four blank postcards depicting attractions in London, England; four annotated Christmas cards mailed to the Luxton family; one annotated postcard sent to Mrs. George H. Ritchie's personal records (includes birth record from 1927 and death record from 1990).

- Sheila Iris Ritchie was Dorothy's long-term housemate and close friend. Dorothy served as the executor of Sheila's will.
- Dorothy's SIN card was originally included but has since been discarded for privacy concerns.
- Photocopies of the original lease for the property on Muskrat Street were taken from Parks Canada microfiche records in 1993.

Content pertains to early events and views in Calgary, including bicycle races in 1896 and [ca.1900], Calgary Stampede event decorations [1912] and parade [postcard print, ca.1920-1930], and a view of Castle Hotel and a nearby gas station in Calgary. File also contains scanned paper copies of photographs depicting scenes in Calgary between 1875 and [ca.1915-1920]. Paper copies include early panoramic and “downtown” views of Calgary prior to 1900, the unveiling of a Royal Northwest Mounted Police memorial plaque [1917?], and a parade scene [ca.1915-1920].
