History / Biographical: Ray Wardell, 1922-1994, was an engineer at Banff, Alberta, Canada from 1948 until 1958, and lived at Oakville, Ontario until his death. Wardell worked on early construction at Mount Norquay ski area and rose to the position of Superintendent of Construction and Maintenance for the Banff Chairlift Corporation.

Scope & Content: Fonds consists of unpublished report titled "Mount Norquay Memories, 1948- 1956" by Ray Wardell. History / Biographical: "To Elvis With Love" also known as "Touched by Love," 1980, directed by Gus Trikonis and starring Deborah Raffin, Diane Lane, Michael Learned, Clu Gulager, and John Amos. Based on a real-life therapist who cared for a wheelchair-bound girl suffering with cerebral-palsy. The young, unresponsive patient is rehabilitated through correspondence with her favourite performer Elvis Presley. Location filming in Banff townsite and vicinity—Banff Springs Golf Course Clubhouse, Banff High School, and Lake Minnewanka road. A number of Banff teenagers were used in the movie as well as a group of special-needs students from Calgary.

History / Biographical: "Days of Heaven," 1976, directed by Terrence Malick, starring Richard Gere, Brooke Adams, and Linda Manz. A Chicago steelworker escapes to Texas with his girlfriend and sister. The trio joins a group of itinerant harvesters to work on a ranch owned by a bachelor farmer. Believing the young couple to be brother and sister, the farmer falls in love with the girl. The young boyfriend encourages the relationship and eventual marriage in hopes they can inherit the farm. History / Biographical: Edward Milkis (1931 - 1996) was a film and television producer. Milkis was best known for his work with the original "Star Trek" series (1968 - 1969), and other TV shows such as "The Brady Bunch" (1969 - 1972), "Laverne & Shirley" (1976 - 1983) and "Happy Days" (1974 - 1984). Milkis was also the producer for multiple films, including "Silver Streak" (1976) starring Gene Wilder, Richard Pryor and Jill Clayburgh. Nicholas Morant was involved with "Silver Streak" while he took action shots of the cast and photos of the train segment of the film set, while working for the Canadian Pacific Railway company as their Special Photographer (much of the filming took place aboard a Canadian Pacific train, explaining Morant's involvement). It is likely Milkis and Morant became acquainted while working on the set of "Silver Streak" together.

Letter is typed, with "BULL SHIT!" stamped multiple times across front. Also includes Nicholas Morant's professional stamp and satirical illustration by Morant of unidentified creature. Signed "Marantz" on bottom (an inside joke which Morant usually applied to gag letters and notes for friends and colleagues). Response letter (signed) from Edward Milkis typed onto paper with "Silver Streak" film logo is attached to back, dated July 30, 1976 .
