He is about two-thirds the size of the woman’s body, has closed eyes and mouth, and has his right arm in front of his body, under his mother’s hand. The woman appears to be wearing a two-piece long garment; the child has carved legs and his feet are resting on the base. The piece is signed on the bottom of the base by the maker carving out “H. Poirion”.
