- History / Biographical
- "To Elvis With Love" also known as "Touched by Love," 1980, directed by Gus Trikonis and starring Deborah Raffin, Diane Lane, Michael Learned, Clu Gulager, and John Amos. Based on a real-life therapist who cared for a wheelchair-bound girl suffering with cerebral-palsy. The young, unresponsive patient is rehabilitated through correspondence with her favourite performer Elvis Presley. Location filming in Banff townsite and vicinity—Banff Springs Golf Course Clubhouse, Banff High School, and Lake Minnewanka road. A number of Banff teenagers were used in the movie as well as a group of special-needs students from Calgary.

- A typed text report on Banff 14 pages long - the text has been heavily edited throughout with white-out and additional pieces of paper glued overtop of written text. Accompanying the text are 26 images and 4 maps, two of which are hand-drawn as overlays of the others. The report follows the story of a family named West from Calgary visiting their cousins, the Cunninghams, in Banff sometime in the late 1960s, which is also when it is believed the report was written. It is unclear if the families are real or fictitious. The report describes in some detail the history of the area, features around town, environment, commerce, wildlife, and community and ends with a series of questions, presumably posed to students. The accompanying prints relate to the topics in the report and are numbered to correspond correctly - some prints have typed text notations attached either to the back or the front along an edge. Two prints show the town of Banff from the top of Tunnel Mountain and a Mylar sheet has been laid overtop of each with landmarks, streets, and buildings noted in blue ink. - William "Bill" Royle (1905-1980) moved to Banff from Lethbridge in 1952 with his mother (Mary Elizabeth) and two young sons (Bernard and Walter), following the death of his wife. William started the business Banff Plumbing and Heating Ltd., which he operated until his death. William and his brother, John J. Royle, were also involved with a laundromat business in Banff. From its inception in 1953, William also worked as director and president of the Banff Park Savings and Credit Union (now Bow Valley Credit Union). In his spare time, William volunteered with the Banff Boy Scouts, as well as St. Mary's Church in Banff, the Seniors' Society and the Alberta Council of the Aging. William's son, Bernard, tragically passed away in a plane crash in 1969 while searching for new heliskiing routes in British Columbia with his friend, John Gow, who survived.

- Fonds consists of photographs, published booklets and film reels which belonged to William Royle. Content pertains to the Banff Boy Scouts: local events, including Banff Winter Carnival, Banff Indian Days and Banff's Centennial Parade in 1967; hiking, camping, skiing and other recreational activities; Bernard Royle and friends; the Banff High School curling team; natural views and wildlife in Alberta and British Columbia; and other related subjects.
