The film was directed by Robert Altman and co-written by Robert Altman and Alan Rudolph. Key stars in the film include Paul Newman (Buffalo Bill), Frank Kaquitts (Sitting Bull), Joel Grey (The Producer), and Kevin McCarthy (The Publicist). Other actors include Harvey Keitel, Allan F. Nicholls, Geraldine Chaplin, John Considine, Fred N. Larsen, Pat McCormick and Burt Lancaster. The movie was filmed on location at the Stoney Nakoda reservation in Morley, Alberta, and many of the film extras were from this community. - Thick leather fold-over purse decorated with four rows of brass tacks curved arond a cross at the centre of the top flap. Back of purse has a 2.5 cm wide leather strap for slipping belt through. Tag printed with “ALBERTA STONEY INDIAN HAND CRAFTS MORLEY - ALBERTA” with a teepee and symbols. The reverse of the tag has CRW's writing: "Purse for belt belonged to Edwin Dixons mother - Belt he wore & is worn out Mina Lefthand - blind since he was 7."
