A round, black lacquer box with heavy gold scrollwork around sides and lid with Burmese figure at centre. Lacquer over wickerwork. Shallow black tray sits in deep base, lid fits over lip on base. Sides of box and lid covered with heavy scrolled vine pattern with gold line borders. Heavy scroll border repeated around edge of lid with figure of Burmese man at centre, dressed in tiered headdress and flowing robe, and holding scroll in hand. Contains button collection and various other sewing sundries. Sticker on base: "Made in Burma" and remnants of a paper stamp of some sort.

A brown alligator skin, clutch bag with gracefully curved flap covering half of front, and 11.5 cm wrist strap stitched vertically on the back. Flap snaps with brass snap underneath to front of purse. Inside completely lined with brown ribbed satin, and has a wide zippered pocket along the back, and a compartment patch pocket in front of that. Brown satin snap top change purse is attached to inside by elastic cord. Top of patch pockets edged with gold colour. Zipper inside is special "Koh-i-noor Kover Zip" which conceals the zipper teeth beneath fabric when closed.

A black snakeskin clutch bag with snapping flap almost entirely covering the front. Beneath it is a smaller flap which closes over a full sized pocket in the front. Inside completely lined with black ribbed satin. Wide zipped pocket along back with snapping patch pocket in front of that. Inside front has snapping patch pocket with another compartment patch pocket in front of that. Compartment pocket holds clear plastic comb, "made in USA" , and small black satin rectangular case, mirror? which contains a Canadian 4 cents stamp which is unused, green with three masted, square rigged boat. Zipper has chain loop pull tab. The purse contained a green, patinaed 1948 Canadian penny and two hairpins, removed.

A small, clutch type purse woven of natural coloured palm fibre with wide band around sides containing chevron pattern on checked background. Top is slightly rounded at shoulders, with zipper set in. Small twisted fibre loop at one corner. Lined with light blue cotton fabric, base of purse woven in plain basket weave of wide strips of palm of natural colour. Wide strips split into narrower strips just above base forming the warp against which a darker weft is woven to form the pattern. A series of six connected triple chevrons against background of tiny dark and light checks form wide band on each side, with plain natural coloured basket weave of narrow strips above. Bag contains large seed pod of cottony fibre in plastic bag.
