On the top edge “SEASONS GREETINGS 1949” and on the bottom edge “CATHARINE AND PETER,” and “Peter Whyte” can be read. Near the TLC different dimensions are written out: “4 3/8 x 6 3/4” (above 6 3/4 there is a faint 6/8 written), “2 4 1/2 3 3/8,” “4 3/8 x 1 1/2.”verso: there is another rough sketch of the same scene seen on the the front side of the paper.
