- A cutlass with wooden handle and scabbard trimmed with brass. (a) cutlass, knife with short thick curved blade inlaid with ornate silver organic and geometric pattern on one side. Thick brass S-shaped guard at hilt, handle of dark brown wood with inlaid brass diamond shape on either side, and turned brass cap at ends with floral medallion at tip. (b) scabbard, slightly curved wooden scabbard shaped to fit blade. Wide brass band at mouth has moth shaped plaque, with incised features, standing out from one side. Tip covered with wide brass band and small knob at end. Single narrow brass band girds middle of scabbard, with indication on wood that there may have been another band at one time .

- A long straight knife with fluted wooden handle and scabbard ornately trimmed with brass. (a) dagger, short, narrow, pointed, double edged steel blade with small, dark, fluted wooden handle. Blade guard, cast of brass with raised curlicue design, turns upward at sides, handle tip of cast brass with similar design and small lug with hole through at one side Note: blade guard loose; wooden handle cracked along length; blade pitted. (b) scabbard, narrow and straight, made of two pieces of wood held together by two rings of heavy cast brass with raised floral motifs, becoming oval medallions on one side with cast relief of dragon like figures. Cast brass bands at mouth and tip repeat dragon floral motif of other two bands and have floral motif cut through exposing pebbly stone inlay in wood. Brass ring near top with small brass loop on one side.

Blade joined to handle with roughly formed collar of grey metal. Note: hairline cracks in handle along grain, blade pitted and rusted. (b) scabbard, simple, slightly curved, wood with hoof like ebony tip. Band of tortoiseshell ? at opening carved in shape of flame or flowing leaf sticking out to one side. Round hole drilled through top, five thin lines incised across wood spaced evenly along length of scabbard. - A heavy cast iron teapot of traditional shape with thick hexagonal lip around circular opening at top and small gracefully curved spout from centre at one side. Tall looped handle of metal tapers at ends into lugs on shoulder of pot above spout and on opposite side. Surface beginning 3 cm above rough metal of bottom has been polished and etched with a flock of butterflies inlaid with gold, and a similarly worked gold chrysanthemum on each face of the hexagonal lip. Simple flat round bronze lid with plain hollow metal knob screwed into centre on a bed of simple leaves. Inside texture of roughly cast iron; handle contains inlaid butterfly motif. Marks: four Japanese characters under handle opposite spout, engraved Japanese signature underside of lid.

- Two light weight wood stacking chests with two drawers each. Chests are fastened together by a rectangular metal latch (23 x 8) on each side which slides up to hook onto two metal prongs placed at the bottom of the chest above. Each corner is reinforced by a metal covering. Oval shaped brown metal plates (12.5 cm. long with straight length-wise sides) decorate the bottom front of each chest. Each drawer has a lock placed in the center of a 10.5 cm. brown metal disc with silver metal rim and center. Discs extend over upper top edge of drawers by about 3 cm., two shiny brown metal handles on each drawer. Each of the handles is fastened to inside of drawer by a wing-type (or butterfly) fastener rather than screws.

- Small square wooden box with inlaid top. Box contains another box within concealed by separate removable side panels on all four sides. Inlay pattern is a series of horizontal strips of dark, light and black woods. The horizontals are interrupted by two rectangles. Upper triangle, 6.4 x 2.5 cm. is inlaid with thin strips of black set diagonally in both directions. The lower triangle, 3.5 x 3.0 cm, is inlaid with twelve light and black wood triangles. A narrow vertical rectangle, 3.2 x .9 cm. of light wood interrupted by thin horizontal strips of black is set to the left of the lower triangle. The four corner support posts are attached to base by small wooden pegs which are visible on bottom.
