- The frame has been divided into three squares, from top left to right; - no. 1 12.5x9cm. has two pole shapes and wires running from it. - the no. 2, 9x10cm. is shaded shapes. - the third in the shape of a backwards L could be the front part of a ship with the anchor winch shown and a large block and tackle on cable above. Marks; the cardboard has been cracked through the vertical middle.“Collings spent the first 40 years of his life in South Devon, only a few miles from the coast. Harbour views, often with boats, dominate his early work. Image is framed in a brass-coloured octagonal frame. A red adhesive sticker is found in the bottom left corner on the surface of the cover glass that reads “Edward S. Morse”. Cover glass is secured in place by a brass-coloured frame that is decorated with foliate motifs.
