The flap is a separate piece of canvas sewn onto the sack which is darted and rounded to fit neatly over the top of the pack. Underneath the label the word “MILLS” is hand printed in black indelible ink. There are two flapped pockets attached to the front of the bag; each flap has a leather strap attached to it by one rivet. The pocket has a metal buckle attached to the flap by piece of folded leather attached by two rivets. Between the pockets is another metal buckle attached by piece of folded leather and two rivets. On the back of the bag there is a piece of leather sewn onto the top and two straps for arms to go through; each strap is attached by two rivets; 5cm from the bottom and 3.5cm from each side there are two pieces of green corded material 6.5x2w cm folded over and sewn with green thread in an X-shaped pattern. On the bottom sides of the pack there are two folded pieces of leather, through which a metal ring is inserted, attached by two rivets.
