- Flat based, deep oval teakettle with straight sides which at top slope inwards and up to oval brass rimmed opening into which rounded copper lid with brass knob fits. Two vertical brass brackets curve up to hold cylindrical, horizontal, hollow copper handle. Long curved spout on one end. Stamped on bottom a cross hatched pattern with letter "B" within circle, possibly an "R" as well. Stamped in centre of base is "5". Base dented, bottom is dove-tailed to the body.

This glass has good magnification (20 X) if held close, but the image turns upside-down if the object is more than 2 cm away. The magnifying glass is marked “Carl Wetzlar Achromatic No.2744 20X”. b) A snug fitting black leather case with a snapping flap. The case is sewn together with heavy thread and has a small white cardboard box inside.
