- A straight walking stick with 46 lettered, riveted, metal bands (7/8 cm. wide) commemorating various hiking trips indicating date on flat side and location on the rounded front. The varnished hardwood body has a large ivory handle (seems to be part of a tusk) with a black rubber band underneath for gripping. The tip of the metal shaft is pointed, second metal piece is where wood and shaft are inserted into head for strength. Above this is a coiled thick wire wrapped around the stick, glued, then a thick ring of brass, and again another coil of wire glued into place. The first metal band from the handle has “1918 Alpine Club” stamped on it. The second and largest metal band 3.2 cm. has the words “A.O. Brigden” written in script and the word “WINNIPEG” printed underneath. - A gas mask (a) and its case (b).a) A gas mask made of fine rubberized canvas. The mask is held securely to the face by four elastic straps and one twill tape strap. The mask has round glass lenses with metal frames. There is a spring clamp inside to pinch the nostrils and a rubber tube for insertion into the mouth that leads to a metal nozzle outside with a rubber sack. The breathing aparatus is attached to a cloth hose with rigid rings leading to metal canister with a filter at the bottom. b) The rectangular carrying case is made of khaki coloured canvas with a snapping flap and ring on the sides. The case has two compartments to fit the canister on one side and a metal coil at the bottom of the other which also contains the mask. A long cord with a square envelope and cardboard is attached to one corner. The case has a canvas shoulder strap with an adjustable metal buckle and button. There is an instruction sheet inside. The case has “-RIS ONLY” and “3” stencilled on the flap.

- Description
- An adult’s beaded buckskin jacket with leather tie front closing; appears to be Stoney beadwork; all beadwork done in the lazy stitch. Blue, green, and ochre beads, stitched in rows on breast front, beading of and blue and ochre on the shoulders and around the armholes, a rounded chevron-shaped design (five rows) of alternating dark and light blue beads on the back ending with two light blue, dark blue and ochre, tails. The beadwork from the bottom rounded chevron-shaped pattern extends to the shoulders and down the arms meeting with two separate rows (of two) of blue and ochre beads. The cuffs and bottom of the jacket have cutouts on wide fringes and also have the regular narrow fringes. There are fringes around the armholes, down the sleeves and around the v-shaped beadwork design on the back. The jacket has no collar but has a strip of pinked thin leather sewn down, ending in a cutout beaded flap (13.0cm long) which is sewn on so that it hangs down like a small necktie when the jacket is closed. The jacket has ochre spots on the front and back and yellow spots on the sleeves. Measurement 148.0cm, across chest.
