Description
Two 1885/1985 Banff National Park Centennial banners. a) National Park Centennial is written in brown lettering in both French and English (5.0 & 8.0 letters) A large 1985 (14.0 letters) in white with brown trim is set between the English and French in the upper half of the banner, the Park logo (beaver) and the dates 1885 and 1985 appear in brown in the lower portion. An orange dotted trail zig-zags from bottom to top. All is set on a white nylon background. There are 3 grommets on either side. The bottom of the banner is cut in tails. This banner is used and rather soiled. b) same as banner (a) but new and still in package.

A rusted red can that was used as a summit register container for Mt. Louis. The dented, rust-covered top is inside. Two-thirds of the rim where the lid fit on is cut away, probably by a can opener or a knife. There is a fragment of rust-coloured paper attached to the seam and extending to the right. The outside is painted red with about a third of paint worn away by the elements. The can has a big dent to the left of the seam.
