Description
A watercolour landscape of trees done on brown paper. In the foreground the bottom halves of four trees dominate the painting. The top of the roots and are visible in the brown ground in front of the trees. Behind the four trees in the background is an open field that leads to the outline of the top of a forest at right and a bunch of deciduous trees at left. The colours used in the painting are primarily blues, greens and browns. The artist signature is written in pencil in the bottom rhc. Au verso, written in pencil about 1/2 way up along the right side are measurements,“10 1/2 x 14 6 1/2 x 6/ 17 x 20”.

Description
A landscape watercolour painting of Table Mountain. In the background on the left taking up almost half of the image is grey-brown mountain with a relatively flat top. The right side of the mountain slopes down and a blue sky with large white clouds takes up the right half of the painting background. Two smaller mountains are in the distance on the right. Coming down along a scree slope from the dominant mountain on the left the landscape turns into forest and in the foreground is a green valley meadow with the forest surrounding it. The artist signature and painting title are in the bottom rhc written in pencil. Au verso, there is a sketch of a winter mountain landscape with a mountain in the background and in the foreground two pine trees on the left and a bunch of branches sticking out from under the snow at centre. On the right are three small trees.

Description
A watercolour landscape painting of mountains and a lake. There are three grey mountains in the background and behind them is a cloudless blue sky. In the foreground is a blue-green lake. On the bottom right, part of the shore with three large rocks, is visible. In the centre at the bottom, a few branches and two logs are breaking through the water. On the left side a large boulder sits in the water. In the middle ground there is forest along the lake shore. The forest starts out of frame on the right and extends just over halfway across the painting. Behind the forest on the left are two green hills. Greys, blues, greens and brown are the primary colours used. The artist signature is in the bottom rhc. Au verso, written in pencil along the bottom edge is, “At Lake Minnewanka aug 28/38 Doris Cormie” and also in pencil in the centre of the paper is “27” with a circle around it. Just right of centre near the top is written, “5334”.

Description
A watercolour painting of a mountain landscape with a lake. A distinct and pointed Mt. Edith right of centre in the background dominates this painting. The mountain is beige with green and grey. Behind the mountain is a blue cloudless sky. To the left of Mt. Edith is a mountain range extending out of frame and on the right is the side of another mountain leading out of frame. In the middle ground is a short line of shrubs and trees with two tall pine trees on the far right. In the foreground is an indigo and blue lake with the shore visible along the bottom edge, predominately on the right side. Blue, purple, green, grey and beige are the main colours used. The artist signature is at the bottom right. Au verso, written in pencil along the bottom, “Mt. Edith Cormie Aug 24/38”. Written right of centre in the bottom half of the paper is, “14 x 10 1/4 6 x 6 1/2 20 x 16 3/4”. Written on the left side mid way up is, “51” with a circle around it.

A watermill is in top right of picture, a stone basement, wooden building with a large waterwheel, a waterfall comes tumbling down from wheel; a grassy slope is in the foreground, lake in foreground; a waterfall tumbles down from left top of picture; the paper is gold trimmed; the foldover paper presentation cover has Japanese writing: Square Paper for Drawing/painting (translation by Maskao Tani, 8/86). A business card was enclosed in the case: printed: Tsunejiro Miyaoka; handwritten: To Mr. Jack White with kind remembrances, Banff.July 24th 1935.
