Description: An urn-shaped serpentine bowl with heavy dragon-shaped handles (serpentine is a mottled green or yellow hydrous magnesium silicate, used as scurce of asbestos and as architecturally decorative stonework). The teak lid is bell-shaped and features intricately carved openwork. There is slight wear on inside bottom of bowl, and the top is slightly damaged.

Description: A rectangular wooden, possibly mahogany veneer, box with a hinged lid. There is an inlaid mother of pearl floral rose design on top of the lid and diamond patterned inlay on the edges. A mother of pearl name plate is centred on the top of the lid. The box has a brass lock and other wire inlay. On the underside of the box are the marks “Fred Carey June 15 - 95” and “1898 New York” in pencil, and the name of Carey is written on the bottom seven times in different styles.

Dimensions: 6.2 x 7.5 cm

Description: A flat-based, straight-sided birchbark box with smooth, flush, overfitting lid. Walls decorated with pink and white porcupine quills, and walls of lid similarly decorated. The top of the lid is decorated with an overlapped pattern of brown and white quills in a floral motif, with "stamens" of green quills bursting from the centre. About 5% of the quills are loose at one end, some quills lost. Thread which binds grass to rim of lid has frayed severely. Box contains six quartz crystals.

Description: Long, black lacquer box with three circular, gold lacquer floral decorations on lid. Lid fits almost entirely over depth of box and is shaped into rounded scallop shape on either side, to leave opening for two circular brass pulls /handles on either side of box itself. With exception of brass handles, box entirely black lacquer. Lacquer has minor chips along base of box and along lid edging.
