A sidehill Cougar is a mythical Rock Mountain creature of apparently vicious nature who, due to one side of its body having shorter legs than the other, is able to maintain easily a stance on steep mountain sides; the only escape from this animal is to run in the opposite direction so that if the Cougar follows it will fall because the position of its legs will be reversed. A.C. Leighton wished to market cheap, locally made souvenirs; this is a prototype but they were never produced in quantity.
