Description
Studio portrait camera and stand. Mahogany wood lightly stained, brass fittings, leather bellows, removable backs. Base (96.7x9.1x46.5) has 2 parts, south sliding has handle matching geared tracks. Locking device on east side. Crank at south end for tilting body (40.5x37.8x37.6). Moves along tracks, mounted gears on shaft with turn knobs for securing position. South twists has locking knobs. Slot in bottom of southpiece for positioning back, held in place with pins at top. Brackets at top corners. N & S parts for rod (missing). Detachable back holder with removable format option (11.5x18.0) or (21.7x21.7) or completely removed back holder replaced by (a). Brass plates either side at top for securing with pins, sliding ground glass focus screen. Black ink lines drawn on glass (27.5x25.9) tongues top and bottom for insertion on back holder locking pin top.

Main body is a square hollow frame with leather handle, embossed text on handle reads: “EASTMAN VIEW”. Accordion connects to a second smaller warm brown square wooden frame with two sliding dials on either side, and bolted black label that reads: “EASTMAN VIEW NO.2; IMPROVED MODEL OF CENTURY VIEW AND EMPIRE STATE NO.2; MANUFACTURED BY EASTMAN KODAK CO., ROCHESTER, N.Y.; U.S.A...” Accordion extends on rectangular wooden frame with metal tracks on left and right sides of top surface, front face of track frame has bolted gold metal piece with cylindrical windup-shaped key. Everything sits on a horizontal rectangular wooden base with gold plating and dials on either end. b — Medium sized warm brown wooden rectangular frame. Top surface has tracks on left and right sides, suggesting it may be a track extension. Front face has circular metal nub. Back face has bolted gold metal piece with key hole, that opens to a larger circular key hole on back interior face.
