Description
A sturdy wooden chest with heavy iron hardware, lockable, with key, but key is broken, and the chest cannot be (1979) opened. Design of solar medallions, six of them, on lid, plus date "1602" in steel or iron riveted to lid. Other solar medallions scattered on other surfaces. Most of the edges of the wood are finished with strapping iron. Some wood splitting. Heavy brown colour overall. Label on bottom reads "Mrs. Mackay Plews".
