History / Biographical: Mary Belle Rich was a published poet and children's book author. Mary Belle grew up in Buffalo, New York before purchasing a large ranch and moving to Pincher Creek, Alberta in her adult years. Mary Belle's best-known work is her compilation of children's poems, titled "Fairy Tales and Grown-up Talk" (published ca.1913).

Scope & Content: File consists of one photograph of Mount Rundle on construction paper, annotated with an original poem by Mary Belle Rich. Photograph and poem were gifted to Norman Luxton.

Notes: Item in file possibly produced during or shortly following Mary Belle Rich travelled to Banff in 1927.

History / Biographical: Frank W. Freeborn was an original member of the Alpine Club of Canada.

Scope & Content: Photograph albums mainly document Alpine Club of Canada camps in the Rocky and Selkirk Mountains between 1906 and 1914. Included are photographs of camp sites, activities, participants, operations and mountaineering in the areas of Selkirk Mountains, Glacier area and Rogers Pass, Yoho Valley, Consolation Valley, Paradise Valley, Sherbrooke Lake, Cathedral Mountain, Vermilion Pass and Mount Robson area. Albums and images are titled and often include detailed identifications. Several albums are broad thematic compilations of scenic and camp views. Some albums include views of Banff clubhouse and other facilities. Accompanied by "Index to Canadian Souvenirs" (AC 0M / 8-9). These notebooks index the Canadian Souvenirs albums (AC 55P / 9-11).
