Behind the mountain is a blue cloudless sky. To the left of Mt. Edith is a mountain range extending out of frame and on the right is the side of another mountain leading out of frame. In the middle ground is a short line of shrubs and trees with two tall pine trees on the far right. In the foreground is an indigo and blue lake with the shore visible along the bottom edge, predominately on the right side. Blue, purple, green, grey and beige are the main colours used. The artist signature is at the bottom right. Au verso, written in pencil along the bottom, “Mt. Edith Cormie Aug 24/38”.
