Teenage shopkeeper girl sitting on her feet, her hands on her lap with right hand shaped to hold something. Items for sale: 14 bales of cotton battings from Oume region manufactured, or distributed, by Yamato-ya (House of Yamato), all specially high quality. On the right wing: silver Obi-jime (Obijime a decorative and very tightly woven tough and thick silk tie belt), tightly tied around the waist, over Obi, (decorative sash). 3 pairs of silk tying strings for Haoli, windbreaker. The sun shade is supported by 4 vertical bamboo poles. Shopkeeper middle aged man, top of head shaven with rest of hair pulled back into a topknot, "5 o'clock shadow". Dark kimono, woven plaid belt. He is sitting on the floor, yoga position, open hands, extended. Items for sale: 1 big woven chicken coop, 2 medium sized chicken coops, 1 big woven basket with one end open for chaffiing, 1 medium sized flat sparrow coop, 3 smaller flat sparrow coops, several carrying baskets, sieves of various gratings, various wooden dustpans, 1 fish basket, 3 hand brushes, scrub brushes. The shopkeeper was probably a basket weaver as well.

Hinged panels on both sides, 15.3x3.3. Front facing panels have wooden lattice work, same paper pattern. Shopkeeper, teenage girl, is sitting in centre of shop. She has a patterned kimono with red in pattern and lining, wearing blue thongs, hair piled high with a red tie dyed scarf, china face. Open mouth show white teeth, china hands. Many and varied insect boxes displayed, very finely crafted, all secured to framework. The black boxes are for displaying fireflies. The shopkeeper is also secured to the display. Silver coloured guardhouse on raised platform with ladde, 1.9 x 1.6w, leading up to platform , 4.21 x 4.1w, raised off base by twelve pillars, 1.5h, and completely enclosed by a fence , 1.0h, except for a gate, 3.9h x 1.5w, located center front. Rectangular sign at top of gate reads "East of Water customs" translated from Chinese. In front of the guardhouse on the platform is a man, 1.5h, to the left and a flagpole, 7.3h, to the right. Flag, 92.1 x 1.5w, on top of flagpole reads "Dedication..."translated from Chinese. Guardhouse is rectangular, 2.21 x 2.8w x 3.2h, with two windows located on the back wall, 0.4w x 0.3h, and one window, 0.5 x 0.4h, located on each side wall. Front of guardhouse is partially open with a door opening center front, 1.0w x 3.0h, and two windows, 0.9w x 1.81, one on each side of door with one lantern hung at top of each. Below windows are half walls, 0.9w x 1.81h, partially enclosing front. Inside of guardhouse is gold coloured with a gold coloured man to the right and a gold coloured alter located against center back wall with Chinese poem inscribed into wall above alter. Two doors are located on back wall with one each side of alter.

Japanese writing top right: 'toku gava ni-sei' 2nd generation Tokuogawa honourable minamoto-no-tada, 10.5 string. (c) 17.5 x 5.2, patterned purple scroll, silver highlights, picture 6.2 x 3.2 of goddess Kannon . Kanlyn-Zan, Konlyn mountain, asakusa-dera, temple asakusa, black and white woven string 15.0.

Description
An Indigenous doll wearing simple buckskin dress with large floral design of blue leaves with orange glass centres beaded across chest and back. Horsehair stitched to head gathered at each side, with a single buckskin thong looped across back of head, simple notched headband, and beaded features of blue eyes and red mouth, with black bead nostrils. Buckskin moccasins with flap at heel and short buckskin leggings sewn to body. Underbody of firmly stuffed red fabric, hands stitched to side of body.
