Thunderbird, with face in profile, outspread wings reaching to each of top corners, and stylized face forming body, is worked with traditional ovoid shaped feathers of black, dark red, dark green, and yellow on white body. Beneath bird is long, slightly curved, two-headed dragon (head at each end in profile) with animal face at middle. Coarse, almost canvas-weight, linen table runner, hemmed at ends, but unfinished edges otherwise. Two bands of black embroidery near hems, and the central third of the runner is decorated with an overshot pattern of geometric figures, diamonds and waves with rows of black birds running the width of the runner; the centres of the diamonds have embroidered colours--yellow, pink, etc--in them. At the four corners of the runner are tassels of black and white, and the tassels are bound into ceramic balls, highly decorated with the words "Carpe Diem," Hora Ruit," and "Ex Anno" on them ("seize the day," the hour flees ," and "from the year").
