- A sketchbook with a black spine and pressed paper cover in black and white. There is a white rectangle label with “SKETCHES BANFF 1928” written in black ink. It contains several colour sketches that have been cut out of a different sketchbook and pasted in to this one. The last two sketches have not been attached. Subjects are figure studies of Mounties, cowboys, climbers, Indigenous Peoples, soldiers, Asian people, and skiers.

- A sketchbook with a possible pressed paper cover wrapped in green fabric. Has “Sketches” printed in dark red script on the front cover and a 5 cm long fabric loop attached to the bottom edge of the back cover, most likely to hold a pencil. There is a coloured sticker of the Chateau Frontenac, Quebec on the inside of the front cover and a hand-written note about the sketchbook’s contents written by Pete on the first page. It contains several black and white sketches of bands/musicians, tourists and tourism-related topics focussed primarily on Lake Louise, cowboys, camps, climbing, and graphite sketches of figures.

- A grey fabric-bound sketchbook with “Sketches” [cursive] embossed in burgundy on the front cover and a small fabric pencil sleeve attached to the inside of the back cover that belonged to Peter Whyte. The original pages of the sketchbook seem to have been removed at some point - the book is full of loose pieces of paper, some of which may be original to the sketchbook. Sketches feature figure studies, cars, wildlife, and graded sampler sheets done by Peter as part of his coursework at the Boston School of Fine Art.
