- Norman Bethune Sanson, 1862-1949, was a naturalist, meteorologist and museum curator at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Born in Toronto, Ontario, the son of a prominent clergyman, he developed a life-long interest in natural history as a boy. Sanson came west in 1885 to fight in the Riel Rebellion as a member of the Queen's Own Rifles.
- In 1892, Sanson came to Banff as an accountant for the Sanitarium Hotel. He also did book-keeping for other local businesses and handled the town's weather reports. In 1896 he was appointed curator of the Park Museum and also worked as zookeeper for the Banff Zoo. From 1896 until 1931, Sanson was meteorological officer and curator of the Park Museum. In 1903 an observatory was built on Sulphur Mountain on a site chosen by Sanson. During the period 1903-1931, Sanson made one thousand ascents of Sulphur Mountain to collect weather records. In 1948, the Dominion Government acknowledged his many years of service by naming a peak on the mountain for him.
- As a nature enthusiast, Sanson was well-known both in Banff and beyond. He was an avid collector of flora and fauna, both privately and through his job as museum curator. Sanson was an active member of the Alpine Club of Canada, the Skyline Hikers of the Canadian Rockies and the Banff Rotary Club. He was a warden of St. George's Anglican Church and a supporter of the Canadian Bible Society. He was active in community events such as the Banff Winter Carnival, for which he organized and led the snowshoeing events. An ardent mountain traveller, he enjoyed both hiking and snowshoeing. Following retirement, Sanson toured extensively on foot throughout Britain and Europe.

- Abstract
- "An entertaining and provocative look at Hollywood's depiction of Native Americans, Reel Injun journeys through a century of cinema to set the record straight. Traveling through the heartland of the U.S., to the Black Hills and Monument Valley, Cree filmmaker Neil Diamond examines how the myth of the movie "Injun" has influenced the world's understanding -- and misunderstanding -- of Natives. With clips from hundreds of classic and recent films document the shift from nuanced silent-era heroes to the Western's "noble savage" stereotype, leading up to the bourgeoning Native independent scene of Smoke Signals and The Fast Runner. Containing candid interviews with celebrated directors, writers, actors and activists, including Clint Eastwood, Robbie Robertson, Sacheen Littlefeather, John Trudell, and Russell Means, Reel Injun is an insightful and essential compendium for understanding the racial politics of Hollywood and the continuing artistic vibrancy of Native peoples." -- Back of container.

- Abstract
- The Camps" is a cross-Canada journey into the past, present and future. In the fall of 2015, the crew of Armistice Films embarked upon an historical journey. Armed with professional cinema cameras, four film professionals set out to document the remains of all of the internment camps used during Canada's First National Internment Operations from 1914 to 1920. At the internment sites, the crew interviewed a variety of individuals who have either a direct or indirect tie to the Internment Operations. They interviewed several internee descendants, including those of Ukrainian, German and Hungarian descent. They interviewed scholars, political leaders, activists, an RCMP officer, the Chief of Brandon Police Services, The Chief of The Batchewana First Nation, Museum Curators, a former Park Warden and Sculptor John Boxtel. In "The Camps", we hear three languages English, French (including 2 fully Francophone episodes) and Ukrainian, and see equal representation of both men and women. ... They address the individual camp and how each interview subject is connected to the history the audience is learning about, and why it is still relevant today."--Ukrainian Canadian Congress website.

- Abstract
- We follow a handful of iconic Rockies ski characters through Lake Louise, Sunshine, Mt. Norquay and even tick off a few backcountry classics. Spanning generations from the young Rocky Mountain Freeriders, to pros like Hjorleifson and Rubens, to ski legends like Eddie Hunter who’s been shredding these slopes since the 1930s, it seems that a sense of humility and raw mountain skill are commonplace amongst the characters hailing from the area. The grandeur of the these peaks have been carved over millennia and their raw nature reigns supreme, inspiring generations to seek adventure amongst the Canadian Rockies in a variety of forms. - Abstract
- Follows the story of Canada's first national internment operations between 1914 and 1920, when over 88,000 people were forced to register and more than 8,500 were wrongfully imprisoned in internment camps across Canada, not for anything they had done but because of where they came from. In 1954, the public records were destroyed.

- Abstract
- DVD cover abstract: Boston in the 1920s. A young East Coast debutante is dating the most eligible bachelor in the world, John D. Rockefeller III. Her future seems set: a dream life in the upper echelons of society. At art school, she meets a young painter from one of the most beautiful places on Earth, the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Their worlds are polar opposites, and their attraction turns their lives upside down. Inspired by a true story, Drawing Home is a universal romance for the ages. Extended abstract: Inspired by the story of Catharine Robb Whyte and Peter Whyte, founders of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, the film depicts their courtship while attending the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Boston Massachusetts and early years of their marriage in Banff. The film focuses on their painting, managing of Skoki Lodge, their relationships with family, Stoney Nakoda, and artist Carl Rungius, and Peter's subsequent health problems. Catharine Robb Whyte, 1906-1979, was born in 1906 at Concord, Massachusetts and grew up amongst the wealth and creativity of the Robb and Morse families. Peter Whyte, 1905-1966, was born and raised in Banff, Alberta, the son of merchants Dave and Annie White.
- Notes
- This film is not a documentary. It is a fictionalized account of Peter and Catharine Whyte's relationship. Locations for the movie include the actual home of Catharine and Peter Whyte in Banff Alberta, which is located on the grounds of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. Extras included Bow Valley locals Brad White, Deb Reeve and David Zweifel and others. Soundtrack Stars in My Eyes is performed by Judy Collins

- Abstract
- Although they could not be conscripted, when World War II was declared, thousands of Canadian Indigenous men and women elisted and fought alongside their non-Indigenous countrymen. While they fought for freedom for others, ironically the Indigenous soldiers were not allowed equality in their own country. As a reward for fighting the Canadian Soldier Veteran's Settlement Act allowed returning soldiers to buy land at a cheap price. However, many of the Indigenous solders were never offered, nor told about the land entitlelement. Some returned home to find the government had seized parts of their own reserve land to compensate non-Indigenous war veterans. With narrator Gordon Tootoosis providing a historical review, Indigenous veterans poignantly share thier unforgettable war memories and their heailing process. We join them as they travel back to Europe to perform a sacred circle for friends left behind, but not forgotten,in foreign grave sites.
