Subjects include a man seated next to printing press, group thrashing grain, men and young child standing next to tractor, young Arthur Goodsell with horse team, seeding and harrowing on a farm, Arthur Goodsell posed on horseback dressed in RCMP uniform during WWI on the RCMP 1st expeditionary force to Britain (uniform is hand-coloured red), the Bow Valley from Sulphur Mountain, hand-coloured view of Bow Falls, Massive Range, trail on Sulphur Mountain, Cascade Mountain from town of Banff, and various views of the Banff area. V433/PA - 1 to 9 were previously housed in an envelope with the caption, "Farming (near Winnipeg)." Image correction form in envelope reads: Farming scenes were taken at Pelly, Sask on the farm of Arthur Goodsell's brother and sister in-law, Fred Makeiff. An additional store was opened following the settlement of North West Mounted Police officers at Fort Calgary in 1875, which supplied groceries and other basic goods to the area. The business and all existing stores were purchased by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1891.

- Deterioration and damage to negatives is as follows: V683 / V / A / NG - 6: Orange/brown stain on top centre edge. Possibly mold? Minimal flaking around edges. V683 / V / C / NG - 34: The emulsion is actively peeling in the upper right corner of the slide. The emulsion on the left side of the slide looks as if it was either processed incorrectly at the time of creation, or that the emulsion has separated from the glass and shrunk creating crease lines. There is flaking along the top border of the slide. An orange accretion is present along the top edge and in the top right corner edges. This is possibly mold on the emulsion, or it may be from another source. V683 / V / C / NG - 36: The emulsion is actively peeling across the surface of the slide. An orange accretion is present along the right edge. This is possibly mold on the emulsion, or it may be from another source. V683 / V / C / NG - 38: An orange accretion is present along the top edge. This is possibly mold on the emulsion, or it may be from another source. There is also a set of initials scratched into the emulsion in the bottom left corner. The initials read “R.H.B.” backwards. V683 / V / C / NG - 42: An orange stain is present in the top right corner. This is possibly mold on the emulsion, or it may be from another source. There are also two spots where the emulsion has lifted. Flaking is present around the deteriorated areas. V683 / V / C / NG - 47: An accretion is present in the top left corner. The accretion is an orange ring with a reddish spot in the centre. It appears to be fibrous? There is also an emulsion chip in the centre left. V683 / V / C / NG - 49: Evidence of blue (pen?) in four spots in the center of the image in areas where there has been a loss of emulsion. V683 / V / C / NG - 53: Orange staining in bottom left corner. Possibly mold? Some flaking along top edge. V683 / V / C / NG - 57: Orange staining in centre left, bottom left, and top right.
