Purse is essentially a square with a panel along the sides and bottom for width, with a stiff panel inserted at the bottom between lining and purse. Top draws closed with a silver metallic cord through a short ivory batten on the front and back causing the bag to form two pleats on either side. Ends of cord have red and grey beaded loop tassels. Twisted blue cotton cord handles are attached through small ivory rings covered with stitching and making a small hole at each side of the bag. Double handles are tied in bows at each side and together at top. Small, hollow, pointed sterling silver cone, awl? is tied through a small hole at the top by a narrower blue cord to one of the handles. Lined with green Japanese silk.
