A brown pole borders the right side of the house and tent. The pole extends from the top of the picture to just below the blue tent. A number of other buildings are found in the picture, though the upper left quarter contains only an area of grass and rock which merges into a strip of distant water. The brown-grey rock and water are distinguished mainly by different directions of brushstrokes. Beyond the water lies a broken horizon of grey land, and light blue sky.

It is a medium blue tone behind the homes, but there is a mass of grey cloud with light yellow highlights directly behind the church bell.
