Beaded directly onto leggings, white background, ca 6.0 wide strips, four columns meet top and bottom strips, each column has 3 designs, dark blue with light blue and red inverted stepped open box with stylized flower green, blue and red growing out of the centre, 3 blue squared arches between columns along top and bottom edge, red fabric binding along bottom edge, quite worn and mostly gone on (a).

- Bright green bonnet (calash) with eight folds. Fabric is stitched around shaped metal stays, 14 in all. Neck piece is padded and shaped with wire. Rim has fabric folded or pleated in ribbon effect. Long green ribbon ties at front of neck. Additional long grey ribbon attached to brim higher on face. Inside back is reinforced with burlap on which is glued brown paper. Written in Mary Schaffer’s hand: “18 S.M. Potts 1832 Calasche”. On back, ribbon is tied in bow. Green fabric stitched on back to cover neck.

One side has an extension which would enable holding (the vase appears to be for pouring or scooping), a beetle with long legs is draped over this extension. The beetle has a striped back and lobster-like claws. It appears to be crawling on the head of an animal (turtle ?). Line decoration around opening. (b) 9.0x9.0, vase with wide opening, line and dot decoration on neck and shoulder. (c) 8.5x9.0, urn shaped vase, opening is 3.5 diameter. Horizontal and vertical lines with dots form decoration on shoulder. Lip has short lines.
