Description
Man's 10 piece regalia set of beaded white buckskin. Each piece has trimming band of light blue and dark blue, with same motif in yellow and dark blue, on a red background. a) Open front jacket (156.0 x 81.0 cm) with two pockets on the front. The jacket closes with thong ties and has one rolled hide toggle. The front opening has a chevron-shaped patch of beadwork with fringe of metal beads and animal teeth hanging from the bottom edge. There is fringe along the arms (76.0 cm long) and along the bottom (10.0 cm long).b,c) Pair of leggings (79.0 x 39.0 cm) with beaded strips, chevron-shaped beaded patches and fringe (10.0 cm). d,e) Pair of gloves (37.0 x 23.5 cm) with beaded gauntlets and beaded backs of the hands. The outside edge of each glove has long fringe (29.0 cm). Gauntlets are lined with green satin and have an outline stitched flower on the exterior opposite the beaded surface. Palm and fingers worn from use, beading loose and fringe separating from glove and gauntlet. f,g) Pair of high top moccasins (28.0 x 9.6 x 23.0 cm) with patched soles. Both worn from use and dirty.h) Headband (38.5 x 4.6 cm) with canvas backing and red and yellow dyed feathers attached. There is a 23.0 cm long thong tie attached to one end.i) Belt (90.7 x 5.0 cm) with thong ties (approx. 28.0 cm long) with a rectangular (12.0 x 14.6 cm) beaded patch attached to one end (like a buckle).j) Bag (36.0 x 27.5 cm) with one fully beaded side and two loop handles, one for carrying and one to hang bag from shoulder. The bottom edge of the bag has long fringe (27.0 cm). There are patches of dirt on the beads.

Woman's regalia set with nine pieces of white buckskin with beading of red background edged with yellow and dark blue interlocked triangular band with repeated motif of light blue and dark blue. a) Dress (129.4 x 108.2 cm) with heavily beaded yoke. The beading is canvas backed and separating from body of dress. The undersides of the sleeves are open. Beaded yoke has fringe of beads, shells and metal bells. b,c) Leggings or cuffs (36.5 x 27.0 cm) in trapezoid shape with four ties on each of the angled edges. Both are fully beaded and backed with canvas. Some beads are loose or missing along edges. Dirt spots on beading. d,e) Gloves (33.0 x 18.8 cm) with fringe (16.0 cm) along the bottom edges. Gauntlets beaded and lined with printed fabric. Beading on both coming loose (row of approx. 23 beads missing on (d)). Hide on gloves soiled and worn from use - two holes in middle finger (d). f,g) Moccasins, heavily beaded with high tops, (24.5 x 21.6 x 8.2 cm) with heavily soiled and worn soles. Soles have been patched.h) Belt (76.6 x 6.0 cm) with no ties. The belt is backed with canvas and has a 10.0 cm section with no beading at one end.i) Headband (26.3 x 9.8 cm; 52.5 cm circumference) with two points along top edge. Stitched together at the back - no elastic.
