- A carved wooden owl sitting on a very rough half-round section of log. The owl is painted dark brown with feather texture on wings, an orange face and breast. The owl has glass eyes. The side of the base is marked with a maker’s mark, “HAL” with letters joined together, and “Bieler 67” in red.

This glass has good magnification (20 X) if held close, but the image turns upside-down if the object is more than 2 cm away. The magnifying glass is marked “Carl Wetzlar Achromatic No.2744 20X”. b) A snug fitting black leather case with a snapping flap.
