- Small round deep-sided decorative ceramic dish with blue and gilded gold stripes around the rim and a picture of a portly bald man wearing purple pants and a green coat with one hand raised in a room with a table, chairs, and windows behind him - printed at the bottom is “MR PICKWICK” and “BANFF” has been written above that in gold ink. A makers mark is stamped on the bottom - online research shows this image was a popular motif with Grimwades in the mid-1900s as Mr Pickwick was the main character of Charles Dickens’ first novel, “The Pickwick Papers.”

Top of dish multi coloured, ornate floral scene with cloisonne accents and scallop cloisonne at rim. Dish (c) deep blue underside with cloisonne flowers and scallop trim underside rim, topside of dish green and geometric cloisonne ground with pink, red, blue cloisonne flower and cloisonne scallop rim trim. All dishes have gold rim and base trim and show dark speckling in enamel throughout designs.
