- A collection of pin sets from Alberta and Winnipeg regiments: a) One brass pin (4.7 x 3.7 cm) cut out in the shape of the Alberta coat of arms (mountains in lower half and cross in upper) with four windmill sails behind and maple leaf on either side. A banner below the shield reads "Depot Battn, Alberta Regiment". There is a crown at the top of the pin with "Canada" below it.b-f) Five pins (3.1 x 2.6 cm) with the same design as (a), but these pins are smaller and shinier. g) One brass pin (3.9 x 4.0 cm) in the shape of a maple leaf with the Alberta coat of arms in middle and crown atop the coat of arms. A banner below the coat of arms reads "Alberta Overseas Batt'y XXXI".h-j) Three pins (3.9 x 2.9) with the same design as (h), but smaller in size. k-l) Two pins (3.5 x 3.8) in the shape of a maple leaf with a coat-of-arms at the centre containing three wheat sheaves in bottom half, and a train engine in the top half surmounted by a buffalo. - Two Thermos bottles in oval shaped, brown leather case with red leatherette lining, mid divided and strapped lid. Each of two Thermos bottles has screw top which doubles as cup, cork stopper, glass lining, stainless steel body. Pressure bottom near top off stainless exterior can be pushed to release top portion of stainless body and glass liner for removal, cleaning, and replacement. Liner is round bottomed and mirror lined for heat retention. Corrugated cardboard lies between glass liner and stainless container. "1914 Trademark Thermos" seen on glass liner. Bottom of each of Thermos stamped "American Thermos Bottle Co., New York... American Trademark Thermos, U.S. Patent followed by date lists from 1905 through 1908. One of corrugated liners disintegrated from dryness.
