Description
Spiral-bound sketchbook with brown thick card stock covers that belonged to Peter Whyte. Printed on the front cover is “The Beverly Spiral Sketch Book, (Rough Surface), For Pencil, Watercolors, Crayon and Ink, M” in dark brown. Sketches feature Christmas card ideas, figure studies, teepee interiors, rows of teepees with people in front/around them, animals, a house [done in watercolour paints, possibly by a child named Ian], and the funeral of Chief David Bearspaw, 1956. Some pages appear to have been torn from other sketchbooks and inserted in this one - there are also smaller papers of sketches folded up and tucked between the pages.

Description
A flip book-style sketchbook with thick cardstock covers bound with brown fabric tape belonging to Peter Whyte. A decorative coat of arms with “Carnet, Croquis” is printed in black ink in the top left corner of the front cover and a “Made in France” sticker is adhered to the back cover on the fabric tape. Throughout the front and back covers are very faint pencil marks that appear to be math equations. Sketches pertain to boats [there are also 2 photograph prints of boat sketches also done by Peter inserted at the back of the book], figures [mostly First Nations people], a crude map of “Rivers Manitoba,” a hill with buildings and the inscription “Gaspe, June-30-58,” and birds.
