- Predominant colours are pink, blue, purple, green and brown. The painting is dominated by the pyramidal-shaped Mt. Assiniboine and the icefield below it. It appears to be an aerial view of sunrise on the mountain. The foreground is comprised of rocks showing through a snow-covered approach to the mountain peak. The rocks are various shades of very dark blue, lighter blue and brown. To the viewer’s left the snow is tinged in various shades of pink as the morning light strikes it and the view to the right is still in the blue shades of shadow. The artist’s signature in white is in this area. The middle of the painting is the pink glow of the sun on snow with some shaded snow and rocks still showing to the viewer’s right. The top-half is a snow-covered Mt. Assiniboine with brown rock bands; viewer’s right in the sun’s light and viewer’s left in the shade. Beyond the mountain are hills and valleys of pink, blue and green. The sky is a very deep shade of purple and blue.

Blade guard, cast of brass with raised curlicue design, turns upward at sides, handle tip of cast brass with similar design and small lug with hole through at one side Note: blade guard loose; wooden handle cracked along length; blade pitted. (b) scabbard, narrow and straight, made of two pieces of wood held together by two rings of heavy cast brass with raised floral motifs, becoming oval medallions on one side with cast relief of dragon like figures. Cast brass bands at mouth and tip repeat dragon floral motif of other two bands and have floral motif cut through exposing pebbly stone inlay in wood. - Simple stick figurine of a pack horse with a diamond hitch pack. Body formed from a small log, four nails serve as the legs, the 4cm. long neck is a nail bored through the head which is made from a twig section 3.5 x 1 cm. diam. Two eyes represented by two small nails, two ears are also two small nails. The bark from the twig has been shaved at the bottom of the head to suggest the muzzle, an indentation is cut into bottom of head to accommodate the string bridal. The string rein is attached to top of the bulging pack which is fastened with a triple diamond hitch. Two small blocks of wood pack boxes are nailed to the body, one on either side. These blocks are concealed by an unbleached cotton tarp, cotton is stuffed, and bulges unevenly over the securing string. Cinch is fashioned from a piece of insulated copper wire. Strand of thick string nailed to rear for tail. Abrand has been burned into left front: "M" ("M" standing on rocking arch).
