- Frank W. Freeborn was an original member of the Alpine Club of Canada.
- Scope & Content
- Photograph albums mainly document Alpine Club of Canada camps in the Rocky and Selkirk Mountains between 1906 and 1914. Included are photographs of camp sites, activities, participants, operations and mountaineering in the areas of Selkirk Mountains, Glacier area and Rogers Pass, Yoho Valley, Consolation Valley, Paradise Valley, Sherbrooke Lake, Cathedral Mountain, Vermilion Pass and Mount Robson area. Albums and images are titled and often include detailed identifications. Several albums are broad thematic compilations of scenic and camp views. Some albums include views of Banff clubhouse and other facilities. Accompanied by "Index to Canadian Souvenirs" (AC 0M / 8-9). These notebooks index the Canadian Souvenirs albums (AC 55P / 9-11). Photographs from Bow Pass show 18 inches of snow on the ground, August 22, 1925. Also includes photographs from a side trip to Mount Robson, enlargements, and greeting cards with trip photographs from Florence Dibell Bartlett, Caroline Hinman, Mary Goddard Potter, and Samuel C. Edmonds. Inserts pertain to the greeting card from Samuel C. Edmonds and the overview/advertisement for the 1925 trip that would have been sent out by Caroline Hinman in advance detailing route, expectations, and prices.
