- The Banff Highland Gathering (September 3-5, 1931) was part of a series of cultural events which were directed by John Murray Gibbon between 1927 - 1931 and held across Canada. Gibbon was a publicist for the CPR for thirty years, and coined the concept of Canadian culture as a 'mosaic'.

- Soft drawstring bag, made out of black tail deer hide, with fringes along the sides and bottom. The bag is lined with floral printed cotton fabric. Top scalloped edge has red and light blue beading. One side of the bag has a 16.5x15.0 cm beaded design with a red edge and a light blue background with the head and shoulders of a buffalo in dark brown. The bison has white horns, eyes and nostrils.
