A very flat ivory card case that is ornately decorated in carved relief. One side of the case bears a cross, and the other side has an oval frame with a pointed scalloped border. The surface around each central design is entirely decorated in relief carving including flowers, figures and houses. The top quarter of the box lifts off as a lid to reveal a thin inner compartment lip with cut out finger grips to allow the removal of cards or papers. Three cards found inside. The first says “James Deung- 245 Earl St. [Kinly Sloi]. The second says “Sir Robert Borwick, 16. Berkeley Square w, Carlton Club”. The third says “[nAL hat] wishes for a Merry Christmas from Mr. Frederick Byram Hussey, Pittsburgh Club”
