Description
A spoon and plague attached to a wooden base. The base is 34.0 cm in length and 11.5 cm wide and has the spoon attached using a screw and bolt locking it in place. Only one of the screws is still intact and is located at the spoon’s bowl. One can see that there would have originally been a screw affixing it to the base at the top of the handle. However, it is no longer in place and can therefore be swiveled back and forth. At the top of the handle “C.P.R.” has been engraved in script style writing. At the bottom of the wooden base there is a plague with the engraving “Presented to Nicholas Morant For conspicuous service to Canadian Pacific Corporate Archives 1 June 1981”. The plague is affixed to the base with 4 decorative nails that do not pierce though the wooden base. On the rear of the object there is a piece of hardware in the form of a round picture hanger that would allow it to hang on the wall.
