31 individual Moiré filters in wax paper envelopes with instruction manuals in a repurposed Ansco Photographic Paper box. Filters are in various patterns and shapes and are coloured either black, pink, yellow, or teal.Moiré filters were used in developing photographs to create textured blocks of colour in order to enhance printed images, usually in advertisement. Moiré patterns are made by overlapping fine-line patterns (such as pinstripes) that are offset from each other at a slight angle - these patterns will appear and disappear depending on the resolution they appear in.

Attached to the front on either side of the crystal are brackets where a filter can be fit; a Y-shaped support can be rotated 180 degrees and is adjusted by a handle on one side; an on/off switch sits in a raised metal bracket on one side, and near the switch the power cord feeds out of the barrel - the cord is wrapped in grey fabric and is coiled up and attached to the support with a short length of rope. Description
A mainly black paper cutter with a red wooden handle. On the viewer-right edge is a long, steel blade (often referred to as a knife), which is attached to the base at the top viewer-right corner with a hinge. At the other end of the knife unit is a red, wooden handle. The stationary viewer-right edge of the base is also steel, with an exposed, “deckled” edge (which produces a “torn edge” effect on the paper). When the knife is pulled down to cut the paper, the action resembles that of a pair of scissors, only instead of two knives moving against each other, the one on the base is stationary. There is a red plastic strip across the top and bottom edges of the paper cutter’s base. The strip across the top edge is a ruler and contains: “2 ½” “2” “1 ½” “1 inch” marked in gold paint. On the viewer-right edge of the paper cutter’s base, adjacent to the steel edge, is a clear plastic strip with a ruler marked in red paint. The paper slides under this plastic strip, past the steel edge, in order to be cut. On the bottom of the paper cutter is the text “MADE IN GERMANY” engraved in a circular orientation.
