Bracing the frame are two wooden bars which separate the gut webbing into three sections; the toe section and the section closest to the tail is laced in fine gut, tightly woven, the middle is heavier gut webbing wound around both wooden pieces, and interlaced with the finely woven toe and tail sections. There is a hole under the toe and just beneath that, a strip of white woven canvas to tie over a boot. The toe and tail have holes through the frame where the gut is laced through and there are tufts of red wool strung through the holes as decoration.
