(a,b) a pair of black leather ski touring boots and a metal carrier; the boots have metal hooks for lace-up with brown leather laces; boots are over ankle, are thick soled, layered leather sole 3.30cm at heel, grooved at heel for cable, with layered sole sewn on and rubber sole glued on, heel nailed on; unlined boot with a grey leather-lined inside liner with light blue faux leather (3.0cm) sewn on the top edge, foam underneath, and unlined tongue; there is also a narrow piece of blue leather at the top edge of the boots. There is a screwed-on metal toe plate and heel plate. On the inside edge of the layered sole 7.0cm from the heel a number “10” is carved. Inside the liner, right ankles stamped “MED” in red ink and on the left ankle a mountain (could be the logo), “ZIRI” “MADE IN YUGOSLAVIA” all stamped in red ink; it was also on the the left boot but is mostly worn off and is indiscernible.(c)The metal carrier is 40.0cm high and 16.0 wide with handle extended. The boots fit within two clamps and there is a handle for carrying. Engraved on both sides under the handle “TYROL” “BOOT PRESS”, “PAT PEND.”, “MADE IN CANADA”.

Typical ice axe, well used, pointed pick, curved adze and pointed slightly curved spike with serated (4) blade and two long metal strips extending 11 cm. from head (blade) riveted to the wooden shaft, two rivets to each side. There is a round hole in the bottom of the axe head where it fits onto the wooden shaft. Neatly carved into the wooden shaft 1.50 cm from the head are the words “MT. COOK” and underneath 12349 and at 2.5 cm. there is an “EM” scored in the wooden shaft. Engraved on pick blade: "J. Charlet a Chamonix” and to the left of this is an ibex logo. On the metal tube that extends from the wooden shaft there is a copper-coloured vertical line (might be a solder line).

Six ice axes with wooden handles, metal heads and tips. (a) has a leather head cover and tip cover. Cover marked “RICHARD COOGAN,” head marked: “FAYETTE R. PLUMB. PHILADELPHIA. SOLID CAST STEEL.” (b) has a leather head cover and tip cover. Head marked “FAYETTE R. PLUMB. PHILADELPHIA. SOLID CAST STEEL.” (c) has leather head cover and tip cover. Head is stamped: “C.P.R.” & “F. JORG. ZWEILUTSCHINEN. BERNEROBERLAND” and an “X” is carved into the wooden handle just below the head. (d) has “GEORGE VAUX” engraved on head, also manufacturer’s stamp with crown and text obscured by rust. “INTERLAKEN” is the only legible word on the manufacturer’s stamp. (e) has a leather head cover and is made by “FAYETTE R. PLUMB. PHILADELPHIA. (f) has a leather tip cover, is stamped: “FAYETTE R. PLUMB. PHILADELPHIA” and the initials “MV” are carved into the wooden handle near the head.

Description
A pair of two heavy black leather ski boots with a metal carrier. The ski boots have a thick sole and are laced up on the upper part of the heel. The front of the boots are laced up with a rubber loop which reads “vibram”, underneath the main tongue is another portion of the boot that is laced up with red shoe laces (the inner tongue). The rubber loop is connected to 8 silver hooks and six gold hooks. The inner liner of the boots are a light brown, on the outside edge of the interior of the boots is “9W” in handwriting. One boot (b) is slightly taller than the other at 19.4 cm. The metal carrier (c) has a hook at the top for carrying and two metal plates with six holes cut out. One side of the plate is inscribed with “ANDERSON & THOMPSON SEATTLE U.S.A”. The locking system is a screw-like mechanism with a piece of metal to hold the toes and a round knob that twists to lock the ski boots in. 38.3 x 5.0 x 6.7 cm
