Topics include day to day life, Banff events, visits from friends, painting, photography, wildlife, travel, camping, weather, events and people in Concord, radio programs [mostly news and hockey games], various holidays [both Canadian and American], errand trips to Calgary [mostly by car], new glasses for Peter, construction of the new Trans-Canada Highway, construction projects pertaining to Buffalo Block [including the installation of a restaurant on the second floor], the Seymour Narrows, B.C., controlled explosion (April 5, 1958), the opening of the new Morley Community Centre in April, a trip to Edmonton, mention of starting a Foundation in order to manage the block they live on [including ideas for an art gallery, library, and museum] and the proposed name Wa-Che-Yo-Cha-Pa supplied by George McLean, and travel around Maine, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia between visits to Concord for the purpose of painting. Letters are mostly typed, some hand-written. Also includes postcards.

- Please note: language pertaining to Indigenous Peoples used throughout is outdated and may be offensive. Many typed letters have hand-written notes added throughout; many post scripts are hand-written. Some letters are marked with a small x in pencil, indicating where Jon Whyte made notes for use in his project "Catharine Robb Whyte, Peter Whyte: Commemorative Portfolio," originally published in 1981. 142 - 21 is a Valentine's Day card missing the front cover, not addressed to anyone and signed by Mildred. 142 - 44 is a copy of a letter written to Catharine and Peter from Rusty. 142 - 60 is a letter written from Edmonton on Corona Hotel Edmonton letterhead. 142 - 74 is the beginning of letters written on the road between Banff and Yarmouth, N.S., on the way to and after leaving Concord.

- File consists of 21 black and white photographs, 17.5 x 12 cm or smaller. Photographs pertain to various sports and recreation activities, including individual and team sports, in and around Banff, somewhere in Saskatchewan (?), and possibly Medicine Hat. Photographs document winter and summer sports, including skiing, hockey, snowshoeing, dogsleds, boxing, canoeing, and horseback riding.
- Notes
- One photograph, ca. 1916-1921, is likely of Charlie Reid (far left) on a high school team (looks like rowing). The team's uniform says "JENKINS" on the front. Charlie went to high school in Medicine Hat.
- One photograph of a man in the snow with snow shoes sticking up is annotated with "Jas Bryant, Banff" on the back.
- One photograph, that is quite blurry, is annotated on the back with "Halliwell winning Sask. steeplechase, Oct. 15/26". Photograph depicts the competition with people on foot and on bicycles.
- One photograph is annotated on the back with " Dog derby at Banff, 1st 10 mile lap, Feb. 5/24." Photograph depicts a group of people and dogs with sleds in front of Brewster's Hall.
- One blurry photograph depicting a snow shoe race is annotated on the back with "Dear Charlie, Unfortunately this is the best I got of the snow shoe race. Sorry. Best wishes, Geo. Barley."
- Three photographs of a group of skiers are annotated on the back with "Jan. 3/31." Two of the group members possibly Charlie and Edmee Reid.

May 8 Battleford engagement with Poundmaker and Big Bear and discussion of the wounded from the Fish Creek fight. May 10 passed site of Fish Creek Battle and was shot in shoulder. May 12 discussion of Battle of Batoche. May 15 Riel taken prisoner and discussion of “half breeds.” June 3 short description of Battle of Loon Lake. Returned home July 20 and continues with office work, correspondence and financial matters. M546 / 2 : Includes travel to/from Calgary, Winnipeg. Camp preparations. Notations of climbs, measurements and/or distances. Throughout December work on irrigation map. Documentation of day to day activities, office work, correspondence, leisure. Diary blank up to June 4th.
