Description
In narrow wood box, 20.4 x 2.8 x 4.2. A small, white, silk fan delicately painted and embroidered with pink blossoms, accordian-pleated on ivory vanes with white silk tassel. Outside vanes are carved to represent flower blossoms, and taper as they reach the bottom where are hinged together with a metal pin passing through them all sequentially. Attached to pin at ends is U-shaped metal loop to which is attached a braided white silk cord with two pale pink silk tassels, 20.0 cm long.Silk is attached to upper two thirds of vanes, and accordian pleated to open to semi-circle, or close to width of outer vanes. Silk delicately painted with grey tree limb filled with painted pink blossoms, some of which are accented by embroidery.

Description
Two simple, painted fans with large accordian pleats on wooden vanes. (a) 4.0x33.5x2.0, bamboo vanes, in narrow cardboard box . Long, natural bamboo vanes are carved through with three long ellipses at the top and hinged together at the bottom with a black pin. Fan opens to an arc 57.0 cm across and is painted with a tree in blossom, and flowers by a stream on both sides. Background on one side gold on other silver. Vanes, except for outer two, are sandwiched between paper forming two sides of fan. (b) 6.2x37.9x2.2, black bamboo vanes, five simple long strips of bamboo are hinged together at the bottom with a pin. Fan opens as (a) to an arc 41.0 cm across and is painted on front with design of overlapping large green and yellow leaves on brown stems. Back is printed with irregular design of small silver squares to which three vanes are glued directly. In a long fitted box with Japanese writing and chop marks.
