Description
A Kodak red candle lamp or photography safelight with it’s original box. a) A red screen, that can be folded. On either end of the screen is silver metal to allow the screen to stand in the metal holders. On the inside on each side of the screen are metal rectangular frames. b) Bottom of the candle lamp, a metal holder with a raised center for the candle. There is a candle in the middle and a lid that goes over the candle when not in use. 3.0 x 8.5 x 8.5 cm c) Top of the candle lamp, a metal lid with a rectangle indent on the exterior of the lid. 1.0 x 8.6 x 8.4 cm.d) The original box for the candle lamp, a white box with a printed label on the front. The label is simple, with a small illustration of the candle lamp on the top right corner and text that reads “THE” “KODAK” “CANDLE” “LAMP” “DIRECTIONS” “Unfold the red frame of the lamp and fit the square metal top to either end of the frame.” “Put the candle in the receptacle provided in the metal base and light it. Set the lamp frame on the base, taking care that the edges fit in securely.” in handwriting “55” “CANADIAN KODAK CO., LIMITED” “TORONTO, CANADA.” “MADE IN U.S.A.”. On the top an bottom lids it reads “KODAK CANDLE LAMP”. 17.8 x 10.0 x 3.3 cm.

Description
A set of two wooden contact printing frames. a) The frame is wooden all the way around with two metal handles on the short side and long side, with black strips of metal that wrap around the handle and are inside the frame, which can be moved. On the back of the frame is an insert back that is hinged off center. There is grey felt on the internal side facing the glass plate, where the two strips of black metal are visible alongside two other strips of black metal in the corner of one side fixed in an L shape, each strip has a small piece of measuring tape(?). Back held in by metal clips which slide under a lip provided in frame. On the back of the frame is stamped text that reads “KODAK AUTO. MASK PRINTING FRAME” “FOR NEGATIVES” “4 X 5 3 1/4 X 5 1/2 AND SMALLER” “MADE IN U.S.A. BY” “EASTMAN KODAK CO.” “ROCHESTER, N.Y.” “T.M. REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” There is a silver sticker with writing, “SOLE IMPORTER INTO CANADA” “CANADIAN” “KODAK CO., LIMITED” “TORONTO”. b) A wooden contact printing frame: wood frame with insert back that is hinged off center. There is white felt on the internal side facing the glass plate. Back held in by metal clips which slide under a lip provided in frame. Stamped on the back in black text which reads “EASTMAN PRINTING FRAME” “FOR 5 X 7 NEGATIVES” “EASTMAN KODAK CO., ROCHESTER, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.” On both long sides of the frame, back and front, are black foam strips. 20.1 x 15.2 x 2.8 cm.

An empty Eastman’s Dry Plate box with a label on the lid. Along the edge of the lid is a red border, in a beige square with a smaller black square text reads “Eastman’s” “Dry Plates” “MANUFACTURED BY” “EASTMAN KODAK CO.,” “ROCHESTER, N.Y.” “TO BE OPENED ONLY IN PHOTOGRAPHIC DARK ROOM.” There is pencil handwriting along the top of the label which reads “Lila Aunt Lizzie”. Along one of the edges of the lid a sticker/label that is partially torn making it illegible. Inside the lid is another box with a white sticker label that reads “Emulsion No. 5599” “Packer No. 13” “If these plates are found to be defective, the user will confer a favor by returning them direct to the manufacturer in this box, together with a negative, and his name, address, and a statement of the trouble written hereon” “EASTMAN KODAK CO.,” “Rochester, N.Y., U.S.A.” “KODAK, LIMITED” “43 Clerkenwell Road, London.” “Paris. Berlin. Brussels. Vienna. St. Petersburg. Moscow. Liverpool. Glasgow. Melbourne.” There is some pencil markings as well. The edges are held with tape. The inside of this box is golden yellow.

The front of the box features “Kodacraft” is a red block print with “PRINTING FRAME” underneath in a square with a shadowed red border. The rest of the text on the front (in the bottom third) reads “Easy, positive corner loading” “Set of 3 masks for nine negative sizes” “Handles paper up to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 - inch Christmas-card size” “MADE IN ROCHESTER, N.Y., U.S.A. BY EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” There is a small yellow sticker on the bottom left side of the front which reads “SOLE IMPORTER INTO CANADA” “CANADIAN KODAK CO., LIMITED” “TORONTO”. On the two sides that open text reads “Kodacraft” (in the same red block print on the front) “PRINTING FRAME”. On the back of the box is more text, mostly information and instructional and a black and white photo of the printing frame. b) A black printing frame wrapped in cardboard packaging. On side is a simple black frame with a glass panel which shows various red print masks of different sizes, exposes some of the cream coloured background. On the other side are two legs on one end and an other spring loaded latch. There is some text etched into the back, “KODACRAFT PRINTING FRAME” “4 1/4” X 5 1/2”” “MADE IN ROCHESTER, N.Y. U.S.A. BY” “EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY” and there is a silver sticker that reads “SOLE IMPORTER INTO CANADA” “CANADIAN” “KODAK CO., LIMITED” “TORONTO”. When the spring latch is released there is a bright yellow slip of paper with text inside a shadowed red border that reads “Kodacraft Printing Frame” “and” “Kodacraft Printing Mask Set” “including” “Masks for all popular negative sizes obtained with the following films:” “620 120 616 116 127 828 135”. On the bottom of the paper “EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY” “MADE IN ROCHESTER, N.Y., U.S.A. TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” Behind the paper is the red print masks. 15.0 x 11.4 x 2.7 cm.

Description
A bright yellow booklet of watercolour papers. Stapled at the left side, the text on the front of the booklet reads “KODAK” (in red block print), “TRANSPARENT WATER COLOR STAMPS” with a red and black stripe on left and right side of the text, “MADE IN ROCHESTER, N.Y., U.S.A. BY” “EASTMAN KODAK COMPANY” “TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.” and a yellow sticker with text “SOLE IMPORTER INTO CANADA” “CANADIAN KODAK CO., LIMITED” “TORONTO”. On the back of the booklet are numbers that have been stamped out in a dot pattern, only read from the inside of the back page “ 450105”. The inside of the booklet features many pages with information on the product and instructions to use. There are twelve colours in the booklet, “LIGHT YELLOW” “DEEP YELLOW” “FLESH TINT” “BRILLIANT RED” “SCARLET” “SEPIA BROWN” “FOLIAGE GREEN” “DEEP GREEN” “LIGHT BLUE” “DARK BLUE” VIOLET” “STONE GRAY”. In between each piece of watercolour paper, is a piece of wax paper. The watercolour pages are perforated to be easier to tear. Brilliant red and stone gray are the only two colours used, one piece.
