History / Biographical: I.G. Baker & Co. was a grocer and supply store based in Fort Benton, Montana starting in 1866. An additional store was opened following the settlement of North West Mounted Police officers at Fort Calgary in 1875, which supplied groceries and other basic goods to the area. The business and all existing stores were purchased by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1891.

Some prints are annotated by Norman Luxton, identifying individuals as being Nootka [Nuu-chah-nulth], some taken in Port Alberni. File contains photographs of human skulls and potentially residential schools - access is restricted to select photographs. Content includes Tilikum voyage to Pacific Islands, with possible locations depicted including Cook Islands, Manihiki and Penhryn, Somoa, Fiji, and Tahiti. Photographs depict the Tilikum, unidentified Indigenous people, missionaries, sailors [two identified as Captain Winchester and Captain Dexter], pearl boats, and scuba.
