Scope & Content: File pertains to 41 letters, telegraphs, postcards and envelopes written by Catharine Robb Whyte to her mother, Edith Morse Robb from April 1929 to May 1930. Topics include meeting Peter Whyte's family and touring around town, Banff Springs Hotel, day to day life, Banff events, people in Concord, sketching and painting around Banff with Peter and Gardner Cox, meeting new people [including Belmore Browne, Carl Rungius, and Billie Simpson], Catharine's travels to France, England, and Scotland, and making plans for Peter and Catharine's wedding. Content Details: Cased Daguerreotype in brown coated paper case. Case does not have a front cover. Back cover has debossed floral design. Two metal latches remain on the right edge of the case. Image is framed in a brass-coloured octagonal frame. A red adhesive sticker is found in the bottom left corner on the surface of the cover glass that reads “Edward S. Morse”. Cover glass is secured in place by a brass-coloured frame that is decorated with foliate motifs.
