- Marlin Safety rifle with a wooden stock and grip. The octagonally shaped barrel has a metal sight notch on top. The curved butt of the stock is lined with metal. A lever action pump forms a handle around the trigger. The rifle is stamped with “Marlin Safety” on top of the breech, “44 W” on top of the barrel, and with “59843” on the bottom of the breech.Note: patent dates - October 11, 1887; April 2, 1889

- Description
- Single barrel lever-action Winchester rifle with a wooden stock and grip, a brass breech and butt, and a steel barrel. The stock is studded on one side with brass tacks in the design of a star and a cross. The bullets would load through a loading gate on the side of the breech. There is a hinged metal sight on barrel that is marked with the numerals “3” and “5”. The rifle is also marked with “PW” a stylized trademark on the breech and barrel, and with the serial number “148108” on the bottom of the stock near the lever lock. This rifle has the patent date March 29, 1865. Model 1866. 44 Rim Fire. Manufactured 1877.

Stamped on barrel: "Made in New Haven, Conn.-Winchester Model 67A -U.S. of America - Trade Mark -22 S.L.ORL.R.-" (c) 76.4 long, diameter of bore 0.8, trigger intact, stamped near start of barrel: "Ross Rifle Co. Canada M-10 Patented" stamped on top of barrel: “E”; near the “E” there is a stamp with two flags, a crown, “16”, “D”, and “C”; “X” stamped on a piece of metal that surrounds the barrel; stamped on the underside of the barrel: “555B”; “X5” close to where magazine would be attached (d) 62.5 long, diameter of bore 0.5, stamped on top of barrel: "FabriqueNationale D'armes de Guerre Herstal-Belgique"; stamped on one side of the barrel: "R [star] C .22 L [logo]"; near the top of the barrel is an oval stamp containing three letters; stamped on the underside of the barrel: “3515”; “c”; and a small square around the letter “D”

Deep cross hatching incised into base of wooden stock and handgrip. Marks: metal breech, trigger guard and hammer engraved with curlicue design, flying duck on trigger guard, and 'I. Hollis & Sons, London' on side of breech, along with two flying ducks; "Marshall-Wells Alberta Co Ltd" stamped on top of barrel;Note: plate on left side of breech replaced with crude strip of cast iron, stock broken at trigger and held together by copper wire and buckskin thong.
