Title: Beaded Moccasins

Date: 1930 – 1940

Material: skin; glass

Dimensions: 11.0 x 24.3 cm

Description: A pair of lightly beaded Blackfoot moccasins, the foot of each cut from a single piece of buckskin which is folded on the foot's inside and seamed along the toe, outside edge and up at the heel. A piece of much lighter buckskin is attached at the ankle, rising about 10 cm to a broadly pinked edge and has two long ties attached to it. Tongue of (a) is one piece, tongue of (b) is split in two. Bead pattern is border of red and white triangles with a band of blue and white triangles across the vamp, an arch of white on the vamp with three conventional flower blossoms extending from the arch, two in yellow and one in red, bordered in blue.
